LT. GOVERNOR

Shane Quick

Lt. Governor

I'm Shane Quick,  Lt. Governor candidate for 2019 (R). I've been a Desoto county resident all my life. I grew up mechanicing, tending fence, working with Granddaddy's cattle, and making hay.  I spent a little time in construction, mechanicing, and shifting gears with an 8 speed Eaton Fuller in a dumptruck  and figured I wanted to do something clinical for a job to fund my farm and ranch efforts. I got a job at a hospital as a transporter and  went to college and got an associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology only to see that field did not go far even though I was highly trained. I went on to nursing school for a year and a half and learned that tangent until a flu shot damaged my hearing to the extent I could not pass state nursing school requirements. I continued on with my transport job and used my experience of 40hr a week walking 25-30 miles a week in the hospital along with my clinical knowledge and 6 month stent in a dialysis clinic setting to learn everything about the facility and how it goes from many different perspecitives. (Bear in mind even though I have a clinical degree some say as advanced a an RN I only make <$19,000 a year due to my hearing loss affecting position compatibility). The same 16 years around healthcare I have been baling hay, building fence, doing my own mechanicing and so forth. I have been a fitness enthusiast for 17 years. During this time that I've done a variety of things and talked to I don't how many people from the public, I have came up with some ideas to keep what is right in Mississippi, fix what's broken, and even if I don't get 10 votes if I can change the public conversation and rally the people to speak up and let Jackson know how they want it, then it would been an accomplishment. I had reach a point as a voter I did feel like that was enough so I put my name on the ballot. It's not about money, it's about sending a message.

I am a flawed but saved Christian, absolute 2nd amendment supporter, 8th generation Southerner, 5th generation Mississippian, and support protecting our heritage as inhabitants of Dixie. I believe the Constituition is a unique document that our Founding Fathers implemented for a reason. Gov't overreach is a major concern in modern times. I would want to serve as a stop gap measure for what comes out of the senate and protect the people from bad legislation and greed. One of the biggest contributors to state debt is wasteful spending, and  given the things I've learned, people I've met, and the wages I earn-it has made me view the world in a very fiscally conservative manner. Good laws and bills combined with Freedom,Liberty, & fiscal conservatism could serve We the People very well.

   Thank you for readin' along,
                                                Shane Quick
